Truenorth Iceland produces internationally recognised, exciting and unique films for both film and television markets worldwide.

Truenorth has produced three feature films: In Front of Others, that premiered at the Gothenburg International Film Festival in 2016; Mihkel, a dramatic thriller based on true events and released in 2018, as well as a co-production of the Danish film: The Shamer’s Daughter released in 2015.

Our newest Co-Production with Netflix is an eight-part TV crime series about the first serial killer in Reykjavik, The Valhalla Murders, which premiered in Iceland in 2019.

 


 

CBS Studios Inks International First-Look Deal With Stampede Ventures, Adapting Ragnar Jónasson’s ‘The Darkness’

Truenorth Productions, the Icelandic production company that recently co-produced The Valhalla Murders, Netflix’s first Icelandic original, is attached to provide production services for the series, which is targeted for production in Iceland.

As part of the first-look deal, JP Sarni, who heads up international content and worldwide content acquisitions for Stampede Ventures, is developing book properties, original concepts and other IP for local and English-language production. The slate represents projects from 15 countries, including Australia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Mexico, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Netflix Co-Produces First Icelandic Series ‘The Valhalla Murders’

Iceland’s Truenorth, Mystery Productions Producing for RÚV

Netflix is co-producing its first Icelandic series, “The Valhalla Murders,” a crime show created and directed by newcomer Þórður Pálsson and produced by Truenorth and Mystery Productions for RÚV. The deal was announced today at the Göteborg Festival by Netflix’s director of co-productions and acquisitions Lina Brounéus.
